Roles:

Thompson Health Care are seeking enthusiastic candidates to join their Northern Beaches Nursing Homes in Avalon and Mona Vale for the roles listed below.

- Nursing Assistants who have a Certificate lll in Aged Care and experience preferred

- Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years’ experience within an Aged Care setting

- Cleaner who is available for both weekday and weekends shifts and has previous experience

About the Role

Registered Nurse

Thompson Health Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse on a casual basis with a view to being made permanent. There are morning, afternoon and night shifts available over both weekday and weekends. This is an ideal role for a Registered Nurse looking to work in a supportive and welcoming environment to assist with providing the highest level of care to our residents.

Catering Attendant

Thompson Health Care is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate for our Catering Attendant position. The role is on a casual basis with weekday shifts available. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chef and Cook to assist in the preparation and delivery of quality meals to our residents. We are looking for a bright and happy candidate with a passion for food presentation and delivery.

Registered Nurse Skills & Experience:

  • Current registration with AHPRA and preferably 2 years or more experience in an aged care setting
  • Have sound knowledge of ACFI documentation or willing to learn
  • Confident and experienced in supervision of other nursing staff
  • Skilled communicator and ability to build rapport with others
  • Strive for excellence in customer service and promote an environment of harmony and trust
  • Catering Attendant Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Catering Attendant
  • Follow safe work procedure guidelines and have knowledge of HACCP guidelines
  • Confident in preparing and serving food to elderly residents
  • Strive for excellence in customer service

    Thompson Health Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a permanent part- time position offering four weekday afternoon shifts. The successful candidate will work alongside our Director of Nursing and Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide quality care for our residents.

    Milford House Nursing Home is a boutique Home which has 45 beds and is led by Director of Nursing, Suzanne Hobart along with her dedicated and supportive nursing team.

    Duties

    • Ensure the highest clinical and resident care to meet the resident’s individual needs and enhance quality of life
    • Ensure resident care and treatment is documented to meet regulatory requirements
    • Communicate effectively with residents, medical practitioners, allied health professionals and relatives
    • Provide leadership and supervision of other nursing staff

    Deputy Director of Nursing

    About the Role

    Thompson Health Care is seeking an experienced Deputy Director of Nursing (DDON) on a full time basis. Terrey Hills Nursing Home is home to 104 residents and the successful DDON will work within the management team led by Director of Nursing Jenny Jones, to oversee the clinical care of the residents.

    Desirable qualities:

    • Current registration and license to practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience within an Aged Care Management position
    • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience as a DDON or CNS highly preferred
    • Able to provide direction and motivate a multi-disciplinary team with a passion to deliver exceptional care and service to the elderly
    • Ability to ensure that all clinical staff are compliant with code of ethics and legal requirements
    • Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills, human resources and information systems management
    • Demonstrated experience with Aged Care accreditation process
    • A sound knowledge of the aged care funding instrument (ACFI)
    • A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required
