About the Role

Tarragal House Nursing Home in Erina is seeking a General Services Officer to join the team. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to work within our Catering, Laundry and Cleaning department.

This role will suit a keen candidate who enjoys working in a busy environment. Candidates who have previous experience in cleaning or catering will be highly regarded. We are seeking a candidate who has a positive attitude and are passionate to work with the elderly. This is a great opportunity to work in a rewarding role within a supportive, friendly environment.

Skills and Experience

    Thompson Health Care is seeking motivated and experienced Chef to join our catering team. We have relief positions available in our Northern Beaches Nursing Homes at Mona Vale and Avalon with potential for further work within our other Nursing Homes in Sydney.

    This is a great role which allows the candidate to be involved in ensuring our residents receive high quality, nutritious meals along with providing a platform to build on their organisational and customer service skills. This is an ideal role for someone who is passionate about Aged Care, is a capable leader and enjoys cooking for a wide range of dietary requirements.

    Thompson Health Care work on an innovative and exciting 28 day rotating menu.

    Duties

  • Ensure high quality meals are prepared and delivered to residents
  • Ensure adequate supplies are on hand for the catering requirements
  • Monitor and ensure safe work practices are followed at all times
  • Provider leadership of other catering staff
  • Skills and Experience

  • Trade qualifications in Commercial Cookery with a minimum 2 years’ experience in Aged Care
  • Experience in running a busy kitchen operation
  • Ability to work under high pressure situations with excellent time management
  • Strong interpersonal skills, delegating tasks and excellent customer service skills
  • Possess good understanding of safe work procedures, Food Safety and HACCP guidelines

    The successful candidate will work closely with the catering team to assist in the preparation and delivery of quality meals to our residents. We are looking for a bright candidate who is committed to quality, safety and providing excellent customer service to all of our residents.

    Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of food
  • Serving of meals: depending on shift times this may include a combination of breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and supper
  • Setting up for the next meal service
  • General kitchen cleaning and maintenance
  • Restocking of kitchen dry and cold stores, and ward kitchenette
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Skills and Experience

  • 1-2 years previous catering/kitchen hand experience in a healthcare setting
