About the Role

Abbey House Nursing Home is situated in Mittagong and is a 143 bed Home led by Director of Nursing Donna Gladwin. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a high level of attention to detail, able to work independently and has previous experience working as a cleaner or in a laundry. This role is on a casual basis offering morning and afternoon shifts on both weekdays and weekends.

Duties for Cleaner

  • Maintain floor surfaces in clean, odour-free condition by cleaning with appropriate equipment and Products
  • Clean wet areas e.g. bathrooms using correct products
  • Adhere to cleaning schedules
  • Ensure residents' privacy and dignity are respected
  • Duties for Laundry Attendant

  • Collect bed linen, towels, table linen, clothes and other relevant items for laundering
  • Sort all soiled laundry into appropriate loads
  • Laundering, labelling and ironing of specialised items
  • Ensure organised washing schedule is adhered to with good time management
  • The successful candidate for the position will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Cleaner or Laundry attendant preferred
  • Understanding of use and storage of cleaning/laundry chemicals and equipment
  • Understand the principles of waste management
  • Excellent communication and time management skills

    Thompson Health Care are currently seeking Cleaners for their Seabeach Nursing Home located in Mona Vale. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who have a high level of attention to detail and customer service skills along with the ability to work independently.

    Due to 7 day cleaning coverage required we are ideally seeking 2 candidates for this role. There is both weekday and weekend shifts available, with weekday shifts being 5 hours in length and commencing at 7 am and weekend shifts are 3 hours in length commencing at 9 am.

     

      Desired Skills & Experience:

      • Minimum 1 year previous experience working as a Cleaner
      • Previous experience working in an Aged Care/Health Care setting
      • Enjoy routine work and working with the elderly
      • Good communication skills

        About the Role

        Thompson Health Care is seeking an experienced Catering Attendant/ Cook for a part- time role at our Bowral House Nursing Home. This position offers 36 hours per fortnight with both weekday and weekend shifts available.

      This is a perfect role for someone who also has experience in cooking and has the ability to ‘step up’ into the Cook role from time to time will be highly desired. Offering a great opportunity to further develop their cooking skills along with working in a supportive team who are passionate about providing excellent customer service and care for their residents.

        Duties

          • General preparation of residents’ food and delivery of meals
          • Maintenance of an orderly and hygienic kitchen as directed by the Chef
          • Understand and comply with the Home’s Food Safety Program
          • Ensure kitchen equipment is clean and infection control policies are followed
        Skills and Experience

            • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Catering Attendant
            • Commercial Cookery qualification highly favorable
            • Follow safe work procedure guidelines and have knowledge of HACCP guidelines
            • Confident in preparing and serving food to elderly residents
            • Strive for excellence in customer service

          About the Role

          Thompson Health Care is seeking an experienced and qualified Aromatherapist on a Permanent Part Time basis for 6 hours per week. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Nursing and in consultation with other Nursing staff to assess, manage and deliver our well established Aromatherapy Program to our residents. Full training and support will be given to the candidate to ensure the best care is provided to our residents.

          This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who may be looking for a part time position and be able to work in a friendly and supportive work environment.

          Duties:

        • To manage and run the Aromatherapy Program at the Nursing Home for all residents
        • Assess residents, complete an individual care plan, begin treatments and review on a regular basis
        • Facilitate monthly meditation sessions for all staff
        • Provide orientation to the Aromatherapy program for all new Nursing staff
        • Provide Support for palliative care program
          Skills & Experience:

        • Must have a current Diploma or Certificate IV in Aromatherapy and current Police Check
        • Need to be registered as an Aromatherapist with an Australian recognised complementary therapies association
        • Ability to verbally communicate and document resident care in English
        • Work independently without close supervision
        • Previous Aged Care experience will be highly regarded

        Duties

          • Supervise and develop a team of Registered Nurses within the home
          • Provide support to the Director of Nursing and Deputy Directors of Nursing
          • Manage/oversee all LMO visits, medical appointments, pharmacy issues
          • Liaise with the Educator and help facilitate and develop the skill level of the existing RNs and NA teams
      Skills and Experience

          • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience as a Registered Nurse for a minimum of 4 years
          • Able to provide guidance and motivate a multi-disciplinary team with a passion to deliver exceptional care and service to the elderly
          • Excellent in customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
          • Demonstrated experience with the accreditation process
          • A solid knowledge of the aged care funding instrument (ACFI)

      About the Role

      Thompson Health Care is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate for our Recreational Activities Coordinator position. This is a fantastic role which involves the planning and running of the lifestyle program and working with our dedicated Recreational team. The role is a permanent 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday with the hours being 9:30- 5 pm.

      We are looking for someone who is passionate about aged care and has the ability to bring out the best in our team and residents. The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives on keeping active, enjoys interacting with people and being creative.

      Duties:

    • Help create, plan and organise the Recreational programs for the Home and running of activities with consideration given to including dementia specific care
    • Coordinate the administrative duties within the Recreational team including resident documentation (assessments), booking entertainment, writing quarterly newsletters and managing monthly budget
    • Leading the Recreational team encouraging a supportive and cohesive work environment
    • Skills and Experience:

    • Cert IV in Leisure and Health essential
    • Diversional Therapy qualification highly desirable
    • Previous experience leading a team preferred
    • Have experience in planning and organising and coordinating recreation activities for residents including bus trips, afternoon teas and group activities
    • Have a passion and genuine care for elderly
    • Strong interpersonal skills, delegating tasks and excellent customer service skills
