The reason our residences immediately "feel like home" is because Thompson Health Care is a family company, not a corporation.

When Faith and Wal Thompson established the first nursing home in 1965, their goal was to create a new standard of excellence in aged care accommodation and resident care. That commitment to excellence is now maintained by three generations of Thompsons.

Doug Thompson has managed the group for more than 35 years, maintaining and enhancing this reputation for excellence. Doug has a passion for providing residents with a beautiful place to stay, whilst taking care of every comfort - 'Residents do not live in our facilities, we work in their homes'.

Jill Rodgers is a Director of Thompson Health Care. Jill oversees the day-to-day running of all the nursing homes, supporting management and staff alike. Jill is integral to the design, fit-out and refurbishment of all nursing homes. She also ensures all homes are maintained to a high standard in order to create a comfortable and home-like environment for our residents.

Doug's three daughters have each continued the family tradition of care, contributing their individual professional skills.

Sonia, a Registered Nurse, is Thompson Health Care's Quality Manager, ensuring the homes exceed the requirements of accreditation and continue to offer the highest standards of care.

Deborah, a psychologist, is our Human Resources Manager.  Deborah oversees the management of our 700 employees, developing programs to attract and retain the best staff. A large part of these programs is our extensive education curriculum, including Certificate courses in leadership and aged care.

Kate is the Resident Services Manger at Thompson Healthcare. With many years experience, Kate oversees lifestyle services including the Aromatherapy Program, coordinates the THC 'Life' magazine and works closely with all of the Directors of Nursing and their staff to deliver quality care.
